Amadu Baba Collection
A refined digital showcase for a premier private collection of African tribal art and vintage Kente cloth, curated over seven decades by Mr. Amadu Baba of Ghana — built to honour the cultural significance of the pieces and connect collectors worldwide.
The challenge
Mr. Amadu Baba's collection represents seven decades of dedicated curation — one of the most significant private collections of African tribal art and vintage Kente cloth in the world. The challenge was translating that extraordinary cultural weight into a digital experience worthy of the artefacts themselves, while making the collection discoverable and accessible to serious collectors and cultural institutions worldwide.
Our approach
We approached the design with the same reverence you'd bring to the collection itself — letting the pieces breathe. A restrained, gallery-quality aesthetic put the artefacts front and centre, with rich photography, thoughtful typography, and detailed provenance information that speaks to collectors and academics alike. The architecture was built for discoverability, with structured collection pages and cultural context woven throughout.
What we delivered
- Gallery-quality visual design built around the collection
- Structured collection pages with provenance and cultural context
- About and biography section telling Mr. Baba's remarkable story
- High-resolution image presentation optimised for detail
- Enquiry and acquisition contact flows for collectors
- Mobile-responsive build with accessibility standards met
The outcome
- A dignified digital home that reflects the collection's cultural significance
- Discoverable presence for collectors and institutions worldwide
- Clear enquiry pathway for acquisition and collaboration
